An emergency grant to support organizational recovery and relocation following the fire in its Richmond office.
Deporten a la Migra Coalition / St. Peter's Housing Committee, San Francisco, CA • $1,000
To support the immigrant rights organizing work of the Deporten A La Migra Coalition.
East Bay Alliance for a Sustainable Economy (EBASE), Oakland, CA • $2,000
To support the Living Wage Hardship Support Fund or other EBASE activities on behalf of the fired workers at Woodfin Suites Hotel in Emeryville.
Generation Five, San Francisco, CA • $1,500
For Generation FIVE’s mission to end the sexual abuse of children within five generations. Through survivor leadership, community organizing, and public action, it works to interrupt and mend the intergenerational impact of child sexual abuse on individuals, families, and communities.
The Gathering for Justice, New York, NY • $3,000
To support the Gathering for Justice initiative for national coordination to engage organizations in a common covenant for justice and ending child incarceration.

Asian Pacific Environmental Network Oakland, CA $2,000
APEN seeks to empower low-income Asian Pacific Islander (API) communities to achieve environmental and social justice. APEN believes that the environment includes where people, including urban community members, live, work and play. It strives to build grassroots organizations that will improve the health, well-being and political strength of low-income API communities. APEN currently works on three levels: Direct Organizing in local communities, building a Network of API organizations, and supporting multiracial alliances to affect regional and national social change.
East Bay Alliance for a Sustainable Economy (EBASE) Oakland, CA $5,000
To support efforts to end low-wage poverty and increase economic equity in the East Bay by creating and supporting strong labor, community, and faith-based coalitions.
Ella Baker Center for Human Rights Oakland, CA $2,000
To support the Center's work in reforming juvenile incarceration policies, and in pushing for environmentally friendly jobs for low-income youth and other Oakland residents.
Oakland ACORN (Assoc. of Community Orgs. for Reform Now) Oakland, CA $2,000
To support the work of Oakland ACORN and its low-income members who work to secure economic, educational and other social justice measures for low-income families in Oakland, California.

APEN seeks to empower low-income Asian Pacific Islander (API) communities to achieve environmental and social justice. Centro Laboral de Graton Graton, CA $1,000
To facilitate a worker's center that helps day laborers who have come to Sonoma from rural Oaxaca to find work in an environment that values diversity, justice, dignity, and respect in California's Sonoma County. The Center serves 100 men and women in developing work skills, ensuring hiring practices, providing ESL classes, and community organizing programs.
Ella Baker Center for Human Rights Oakland, CA $1,000
To support youth in the Bay Area to push California legislators to move budget priorities away from incarceration and towards stronger investment in public education. EBC is a Bay Area leader in reforming juvenile incarceration policies. EBC also partners with young voters campaigns including Rock the Vote/Rap the Vote and the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network, which together have registered more than 600,000 new voters over the last several years.
Just Cause Oakland Oakland, CA $1,000
Just Cause Oakland (JCO) is a membership-based organization whose mission is to ensure decent and affordable housing for all East Bay residents. JCO works to support tenant rights, prevent displacement of families, and secure decent and affordable housing for low-income Oakland communities. JCO has been instrumental in achieving fair eviction laws to stop displacement.
Mujeres Unidas y Activas Oakland and San Francisco, CA $1,000
To support this women's immigrant organization to meet its dual mission of Latina immigrant empowerment and collective action for immigrant rights, women's right, and social justice. This grant supports MUA's offices in San Francisco and Oakland.
National Radio Project Oakland, CA $1,500
To support this award-winning media outlet for independent journalists and community based organizations and its weekly documentary Making Contact, which airs around the world and reports on human rights, social and economic justice, and environmental issues.
Oakland Congregation of Organizations Oakland,CA $1,000
To support this interfaith coalition's work to organize residents in East Oakland, California to change public policies that deny people opportunities for jobs, quality education, affordable housing, and econmic development.
Women of Color Resource Center (WCRC) Oakland, CA $1,500
To provide funds for this educational resource center to raise awareness of the current conditions facing women of color, to work toward strategies and actions for change, and to implement projects that help develop women of color leadership. WCRC led a national get out the vote effort for women of color in 2004 and continued its voter education in 2005.
